Leadership
Olga Maslennikova

Founder, Praxis
PhD in Education
Praxis was born at the intersection of years of hands-on work with universities and a deep understanding of how international education is being reshaped by artificial intelligence, emerging educational models, and global competition.

I work with university teams on:
• Diagnosing and redesigning international education systems
• Designing strategic development models for universities
• Assessing readiness for future educational transformations
• Implementing management solutions and new educational architectures

Today, Praxis brings together experts and project teams who help universities understand their current position, see future opportunities, and design sustainable models for international development.

When Universities Turn to PRAXIS

We work with universities that are at a strategic crossroads — institutions that recognize that isolated initiatives no longer guarantee sustainable international development.

Today, universities need more than just the ability to manage their existing international education systems. They also need to understand how ready those systems are for future changes, emerging educational models, and AI transformation.
  • International activities are fragmented or lack a structured model

  • There is a portfolio of programs and partnerships without a unified international education architecture

  • The outcomes of international initiatives do not align with the resources invested or the expectations set

  • It is difficult to identify priority markets and strategic directions for international development

  • Greater governance and efficiency are needed in international operations

  • The university faces new challenges related to digital transformation and AI

  • Long-term development scenarios and competitive advantages must be defined in a shifting educational landscape

  • The university is entering a new stage of development and requires a systemic strategic approach

  • Outcome

Depending on the university's goals, our work may begin with either:

    Tool

    Focus

    Praxis Index

Diagnostic of the current state of international education

    Praxis Future Index

Assessment of readiness for future changes, AI transformation, and new models of international education

Universities receive more than just a set of recommendations. They gain a holistic understanding of their current position, development potential, and possible future trajectories.

    • Clear strategic priorities for international development
    • An aligned system of international programs, partnerships, and recruitment
    • Data-driven decision-making tools for governance and management
    • Improved efficiency and impact of international activities
    • A clear view of strengths and areas for growth
    • Development scenarios for a 5–10 year horizon
    • A strategic vision of the university's role in the future international education landscape
Core Advisory Areas
Practice shows that sustainable international development of a university is shaped at the intersection of several interconnected areas. These areas form the foundation of analysis, strategic design, and change management within Praxis.

International Education System
  • Internationalization of Academic Programs
Development and growth of international educational programs, joint courses, double degree programs, and integration of global academic standards.

Integrating AI into international recruitment, student support, educational programs, analytics, and management decision-making.
  • Readiness for Future Educational Models
Assessing the university's readiness for new educational models, digital transformation, and the ability to operate in a constantly changing environment.

The Praxis Approach

Praxis views international education as a system in which strategy, educational model, international activity, and governance are interconnected — together shaping the sustainable development of the university.

We help universities not only understand the current state of their system but also design its development in the context of global change, digital transformation, and AI.

Our work is built on two interconnected pillars:

Praxis Index — Analysis of the current state of international education
Praxis Future Index — Assessment of readiness for future changes and new educational models
Praxis Framework for University International Education
Praxis Framework is an original methodological model for analyzing and developing a university's international education. It enables international education to be viewed as an integrated system rather than a collection of isolated initiatives, programs, and projects.
The model helps analyze the current state of international education, design development pathways, and build sustainable strategies in the context of global change.
Praxis Framework brings together three interconnected levels, each performing its own function while reinforcing the others.
Strategic Level
Defines the university's long-term international development priorities, global positioning, and place in the international education landscape.
Academic Level
Shapes the content of international education through educational programs, research collaboration, international projects, and academic initiatives.
Institutional Level
Ensures the implementation of strategy through governance mechanisms, organizational processes, infrastructure, and the international educational environment.
How the Framework Works
The three levels operate as a unified system:
  • Strategic — sets the development direction
  • Academic — shapes the educational and research content of international development
  • Institutional — ensures sustainable implementation
Alignment across all three levels is a key condition for sustainable international development of the university.
Praxis Framework is the foundation of two key platform tools: Praxis Index and Praxis Future Index.
Assessment Principle
The Praxis Framework is not a theoretical construct. Each level of the model has measurable parameters, maturity indicators, and can be assessed through Praxis diagnostic tools.

This is precisely why the model becomes a foundation for management decisions and strategic development of the university.
Praxis Diagnostic Tools
Praxis operates on two levels of university analysis — current and future.

This makes it possible not only to assess the current state of international education but also to determine its potential in the context of a transforming global educational environment.

Our Advisory Approach

International education is becoming a key driver of university sustainability. Yet programs, partnerships, and recruitment often operate as separate initiatives — without a unified system or strategy.

Praxis helps universities see the whole system: assess the current state, evaluate readiness for the future, and design a sustainable development model.

4 Flagship Praxis Products:
Praxis formats
Praxis services represent a sequential system of engagement with universities — from diagnostics of the current state to designing and supporting the transformation of international education.

Each service corresponds to a specific stage of university development and can be used independently or in combination with other Praxis tools (Index and Future Index).

Services are applied based on the university's level of need:
  • Diagnostics of the current state → Praxis Index
  • Assessment of readiness for the future → Praxis Future Index
  • Design and implementation of change → Praxis Model & Advisory

Expert Without Hurry: Why Strong Educational Projects Are Born in Silence

In contemporary educational practice, speed is often treated as the primary indicator of effectiveness. Rapid program launches, accelerated scaling, and constant activity are widely read as signs of competence and momentum. Yet this assumption rests on a fragile premise: that movement itself is evidence of quality.

Why University Online Education Requires a New International Model

For a long time, online education was perceived as the main instrument for the global development of universities. After the pandemic, many institutions actively launched online programs, international master’s degrees, and digital learning platforms in an effort to enter new markets and attract international students without physical presence in other countries.
